Directions from Barnstaple

Woolsery and Woolfardisworthy are the same place as some map books only give the long name and not the shortend local name woolsery pronounced 'wulzari'

Leave the M5 at Junction 27 and follow the A361 to Barnstaple for 33 miles. At the roundabout where the A39 starts, take the first exit and follow the A39 for 9 miles passing over the River Torridge at Bideford. At the roundabout just over the bridge, take the second exit and carry on the A39 for 7.5 miles passing through 'Fairy Cross' then 'Horns Cross' and on reaching 'Bucks Cross' turn left signposted Woolfardisworthy (Woolsery). Keep on this road (for approx 2 miles) until you get into the centre of Woolsery. On the right is the village church and on the left the 'Farmers Arms' pub. Straight ahead on the corner is 'Woolsery Primary School'.

Carry on over the crossroad (slightly staggered) keeping the school to your righthand side. Attached to the school fence is the signpost for 'Meddon and Huddisford'. Continue on this road for 3 miles (road very narrow and lots of bends so go carefully) and you will pass over a small hump back bridge with a golf course on your right. At the T junction (Biteford Cross) turn left signposted 'Bradworthy 4' and you will find the entrance to 'Orchard Lodge' 100 yards on the right or 'The Cottage' a further 100 Yards on the right with the entrance just by the side of the large barn.
